The Nikon D90 Camera fuses technology from Nikon's flagship digital SLRs with a selection of sophisticated functions to help you achieve much better results.
The D90's 12.3 megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor and EXPEED image processing system offer brilliant image quality over a wide ISO light sensitivity range. Live View mode allows you to frame and shoot via the high resolution 3-ins LCD monitor, and an futuristic Scene Recognition System and autofocus performance help capture images with astounding accuracy.
You cam take movies in Motion JPEG format using the new D-Movie function. The Nikon D90 has a big image sensor ensures exceptional movie image quality and dramatic effects can be created by shooting with a wide selection of interchangeable NIKKOR lenses, from wide angle to macro to fisheye, or by adjusting the lens aperture and experimenting with depth of field. The Nikon D90 - planned to fuel your passion for taking photographs.
A new idea for D-SLRs, the Nikon D90 camera offers a movie function, ehich lets you take movies in three different motion JPEG formats: 320 x 216 pixels, 640 x 424 pixels and 1,280 x 720 pixels. Now you can capture life's moving moments with added drama by using a selection from Nikon's NIKKOR lenses, including the AF DX Fisheye 10.5mm f/2.8G ED and the Micro-NIKKOR. The shallow depth of field can provide your film with a more emotive and creative feel. An additional benefit is the D90 image sensor, which is much larger than a normal camcorder for superior image quality and exceptional high ISO performance during low-light shooting.
When you are unsure which camera settings are appropriate, simply rely on the Advanced Scene Modes. Just turn the mode dial to the right icon: Portrait, Landscape, Close-up, Sports or Night Portrait. Unlike normal scene modes, the Nikon D90 will automatically optimize the exposure, image processing, Active D-Lighting, and picture control to get the most out of your subject matter. What is more, the D90 has exceptional low noise performance and accurately changes the camera levels whether VR (Vibration Reduction) is activated or not, so expect beautiful, crisp pictures, even in many poor light scenes.
The D90 demonstrates fantastic autofocus accuracy by utilising brightness and colour details from its 420-pixel RGB sensor. When taking pictures in Auto-area AF mode, the camera speedily focuses on the main subject by detecting foreground, background and subject position. When utilising 3D tracking (11 points) mode, the camera takes your subject's brightness and colour detail to keep it in sharp focus as you change the composition.
The D90 incorporates a recently developed DX-format CMOS image sensor with technology coming straight from the D300, Nikon's DX-format flagship. With its 12.3 effective megapixels and extraordinarily high signal to noise ratio, the D90 camera gives low-noise images with detail and tonal gradation beyond your expectations, while Nikon's Integrated Dust Reduction System frees image-degrading dust particles off the sensor's optical low-pass filter.
Nikon's comprehensive EXPEED technology is engineered to make the best of the sensor's rich, 12.3-megapixel data. The result - detail, colour and top speed processing inspired by the groundbreaking D300. The D90's picture processing engine produces high-resolution pictures at remarkable speeds, better allowing high-speed continuous shooting. EXPEED also contributes to the outstanding performance of other powerful features, including Live View and the new Face Detection System.
The D90 allows you the freedom to take pictures in a remarkably wide variety of lighting conditions, including poorly lit scenes, without worrying about image-degrading noise. ISO can be raised as high as Hi 1 (ISO 6400 equivalent) or lowered to Lo 1 (ISO 100 equivalent).
Nikon's Picture Control System allows you to customize the look and mood of the pictures. Choose from six settings: Standard, Neutral, Monochrome, Vivid and the recently added Portrait and Landscape. Try to use the Quick Adjust* function to simply make extra adjustments according to your preferences and needs, then store the settings as Custom Picture Controls.
First brought in on the D3 and D300 flagship cameras, Nikon's breakthrough Scene Recognition System is also featured in the D90. This unique technology utilises a 420-pixel RGB sensor to analyze immense amounts of scene and colour information in order to understand what the camera is about to shoot. Milliseconds before the shutter is released, the camera optimizes the autofocus, auto exposure, i-TTL control and white balance. The D90 also uses Nikon's new Face Detection System to render human faces with a new found sharpness and accuracy.
